Revion, a renowned ATPL ground school provider in Singapore, has entered into a long-term strategic partnership on 9 November 2021 with Flight Training Adelaide (FTA), a world-renowned flight training provider, combining Revion’s unparalleled ATPL ground training with FTA’s world-class flight training.
Through this new partnership, aspiring Singaporean pilots will now have access to world-class flight training facilities and also to obtain DUAL Commercial Pilot Licence that enables them to fly Australia-/Singapore-registered aircraft.
Revion and FTA have specially curated a robust and comprehensive training program of which upon completion of training, the cadets will be conferred with CASA CPL MECIR and an unrivalled Diploma of Aviation fulfilling the Australian airline pilot training requirements. With the training program fulfilling the conversion requirements, it will enable the cadets to apply for a Singapore pilot licence (CAAS CPL MEIR with frozen ATPL) to seek employment with a local airline.
“FTA is a world-renowned flight training provider, preferred by a number of world leading international airlines. In addition to being approved to deliver training under multiple overseas regulators; FTA is also appointed by Qantas as the training provider for the Qantas Group Pilot Academy. These are testaments to the quality and standard of training FTA provides and it aligns with our mission to empower cadets of current and future generations to become pilots of highest professional standards and values through the power of unparalleled learning and training,” said Youhao Toh, Managing Director of Revion Ground School.
“As the commercial aviation industry continues to navigate an uneven global recovery from the market downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognise that there is a crucial need to have a steady pipeline of newly qualified pilots to replace those who have left or will soon exit the industry through mandatory retirement, early retirement, layoffs, furloughs, and ongoing attrition,” he added.
Air travel demand has begun to recover in many domestic markets and has occasionally surpassed 2019 levels in some countries. The industry is observing a strong eagerness to travel as COVID-19 vaccines become widely accessible and with the easing of international travel restrictions. Inevitably, this created a renewed surge in demand for pilots, restoring many of the jobs lost last year and opening opportunities for new pilots to join the ranks.
“Aspiring Singaporean pilots who begin their flight training today will be well-positioned to benefit from new piloting opportunities by the time they graduate,” said Youhao Toh.
“FTA is excited to embark on this collaboration with Revion. Singapore is a vibrant aviation market and we believe a high – quality training solution conducted in the ideal training environment offered by FTA in Australia, offers some real opportunity for young aspiring aviators from Singapore,” said Johan Pienaar, CEO of FTA
