Student Welfare Manager
This position is only available to Australian or New Zealand citizens or if you are a permanent resident of Australia.

This is a newly created role based in Port Lincoln is responsible for providing administrative and welfare support to all students studying at FTA. The incumbent is to act as a role model and influence student behavior and activity with a view to individual personal development, course camaraderie, welfare and well-being of the student body.

This role will report to the Director of Training and will have pastoral care and personal development is an integral part of the training program. This position must demonstrate to both management and the customer an absolute commitment to championing these elements of training.

  • Handle student needs and enquiries;
  • Liaise with CASA DAME or HKCAD DAME on medical issues;
  • Organise social evenings for students on behalf of FTA;
  • Reconcile travel and credit card accounts relating to student welfare;
  • Organise transport for student/customer arrivals and departures to/from airport as directed by the Director of Training and meet new students on arrival in Port Lincoln, as and when required, including student medical appointments;
  • o Manage local student induction and liaise with FTA staff and ensure student administrative processes such as accommodation, uniform issue dietary requirements are accomplished in a timely and efficient manner;

Requirements

  • Diploma or Higher qualification in welfare or other relevant experience in a related discipline
  • Be able to communicate with students ranging from 18 – 40 with varying issues
  • The ability to obtain/have obtained a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
  • Must have own vehicle and a hold a full South Australian driving licence
  • Proof of Identity information and confirmation of the ability to work and stay in Australia without restrictions and hold a valid passport

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be reliable and flexible he/she will be based in Port Lincoln, however, there will be some travel from and to Parafield and Adelaide from time to time. This role does involve transportation students to local medical appointments, it is essential the chosen candidate will have his/her own vehicle and licence. Some small training aircraft travel may be required, if the candidate is required to attend the Parafield campus for meetings. The role would ideally suit a dynamic and self-motivated individual with strong organisational skills. Your solid computer literacy, the ability to organise your work efficiently, combined with the capacity to work independently as well as in a small team environment will lead to your success.

We are seeking to recruit individuals with extensive experience to work as part of an established and successful team, requirements:

  • Current Australian FIR Grade 3 or above
  • Instrument Rating (IR)


Ground Theory Instructor
There are full-time positions and only those individuals with the relevant experience and who are either Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents need apply.

The Ground Training Instructor position is responsible for the effective and professional delivery of the Ground Training Syllabi. We are seeking to recruit individuals who have taught or are teaching aviation theory from Private Pilots Licence (PPL) to Air Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL) to work as part of an established and successful team.

The successful candidate must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116), a diploma or higher for a qualification in adult education or have/held a CASA Part 61 Flight Instructor Licence.
